City Tour Through Dresden: A Path from Now to Then

Experience Dresden on a city tour that takes you from the modern cityscape to the stunning reconstructions at Neumarkt. Discover how the city has transformed since the 1950s – an exciting journey through Dresden's fascinating history!

Wiener Platz and Prager Straße: The Gateway to the Old Town

Our tour begins at Wiener Platz and Prager Straße, the gateway to the Old Town for travelers arriving from the main train station. In the past, visitors were greeted here by a monumental Lenin statue and the welcoming mural “Dresden Greets Its Guests.” Today, the street is characterized by modern shopping centers, stylish hotels, and an impressive memorial commemorating the events of 1989 during German reunification.

Altmarkt and Neumarkt: The Charm of "Old Dresden"

The tour continues to Altmarkt, where the 1950s-era façades revive the charm of “Old Dresden.” The Kulturpalast, a masterpiece of modernist architecture, invites exploration of its remarkable interior – a truly unforgettable experience enhanced by its red carpet.
The city tour concludes with Dresden’s famous landmarks, including the Semper Opera House, the Zwinger, and the Royal Palace. The final stop is at Neumarkt, where the Frauenkirche and the reconstructed surrounding quarters evoke the cityscape of the 18th century.
Dresden is a city in constant transition, and we invite you to share your impressions as you explore its rich history and vibrant present.
