Museum Tour Dresden: Elegance and Exoticism at the Royal Palace

The museum tour through Dresden’s Royal Palace combines art, culture, and history into an unforgettable experience. Whether it’s the elegance of the Armory or the exotic allure of the Turkish Chamber, these collections bring the past to life and transport you to a world of splendor and grandeur.

Dresden Chic: Discover the Armory at the Royal Palace

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the Armory at Dresden’s Royal Palace on a museum tour. In the Grand Hall, the door to another time opens – you’ll encounter the proud man of the 16th century in a quiet dialogue. His stories of armor and master craftsmen lead you into a world where chivalry defined the origins of elegance and dignity. The glamorous suits of armor in the Armory are bespoke creations by renowned German craftsmen like Anton Peffenhauser and Matthäus Frauenpreis of Augsburg, as well as Jörg Seusenhofer from Innsbruck. You’ll also find exquisite pieces from Italian and French masters.

Enchanting Worlds: The Turkish Chamber and the Ottoman Tent

Another highlight of your museum tour is the Turkish Chamber, a magical world straight out of "One Thousand and One Nights." Step inside the impressive 18-meter-long Ottoman tent and be captivated by Augustus the Strong’s fascination with the "Turkish fashion" trend. Balls, equestrian ballets, tournaments, and operas were staged in an Ottoman-inspired setting ‘alla turca.’ You’ll see why "Turkish fashion" was the sensation of its time!
